The University of Calicut was established in 1968 and is the second university in Kerala. It is one of the largest universities in the state, serving the educational needs of the Malabar region through its postgraduate departments and affiliated colleges. The university follows the motto “Nirmaya Karmana Sree,” meaning “Prosperity through pure actions.” The University of Calicut Distance Education has UGC-DEB approval with NAAC A+ accreditation, which ensures its credibility and makes it a reliable choice for learners.
The main campus of the University of Calicut is located at Tenhipalam, about 24 km from Kozhikode.
